– Funnily enough, I hadn’t even heard of Finland before meeting my husband, says Tina Salo from Malaysia. She graduated from SAMK in 2024 with a degree in International Tourism Management and now works as a receptionist at Sokos Hotel Vaakuna in Pori.

SAMK will participate in SuomiAreena, held from June 24–27, 2025. SAMK will have a tent at Kansalaistori, featuring daily changing themes. In addition, SAMK will co-host a discussion titled “Finland thrives on the West Coast” (in Finnish).

A smoother pathway to Finnish working life for international registered nurses

A new kind of collaboration will strengthen expertise in Finnish healthcare. Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK) is involved in projects to develop new operating models for individuals who have completed a nursing degree outside the EU or EEA countries.

For the first time, Finland is developing dietary guidelines specifically for working-age adults. A working group appointed by the National Nutrition Council has begun preparing the recommendations, and Senior Researcher Susanna Kunvik from SAMK is among the working group.
