The effects of coronavirus pandemic to joint application

Applying for universities of applied sciences takes place at the address https://studyinfo.fi/wp2/en/. Coronavirus pandemic affects university of applied sciences´ student admission.

Universities of applied sciences decided to cancel entrance examinations to universities of applied sciences in the first joint application of the spring 2020, as Finland closes its borders in the fight against coronavirus pandemic. During the state of emergency, international applicants couldn´t participate in the entrance examinations in Finland. At SAMK, this affects the entrance examination of the English degree programme in Physiotherapy. The entrance examinations are taken as online entrance examinations, which consist of a written part and an online interview. The applicants have been informed about the changes.

– The entrance exams connected to the second joint application – also the nationwide university of applied sciences´ entrance exam – will be organized at the end of spring at SAMK as planned. We will follow with other universities of applied sciences how the coronavirus situation unfolds. In any case, student admission for studies beginning in the autumn of 2020 will be made during spring and summer 2020. It is worth following the information on the state of emergency given on SAMK pages. Even though the coronavirus complicates the student admission of higher education this spring, we will pull through this for sure, believes Janne Santala, Head of Student Services.
