The application period for this autumn has ended – a considerable number of applicants

The application period for SAMK's degrees has ended. There were a total of 3,033 applicants for SAMK in the autumn.

Some students have already returned to contact teaching. The student restaurant Skene is also open again.

A total of about 34,400 applications were submitted nationwide for the joint application system of universities this autumn. SAMK received a total of almost 2,100 applications, and more than 1,100 of them were primarily addressed to SAMK. A total of about 950 applications were submitted for a separate application system for degree programs in English.

As in previous years, the most popular was the online Business Administration, which had more than 1,000 applicants. It is offered in Finnish. The attractiveness of the program in relation to places available was 13.6.

The most popular of the degree programs in English was International Business, with 12.4 applicants per available place. Applicants were also interested in the Nursing degree program in English. Both programs more than doubled the number of applicants compared to the situation a year ago.

There were 11 degree programs from SAMK in the autumn, three daytime studies, three multiform or network studies and five master’s degree programs. Students are selected for degree programs through certificate selections, entrance exams, and preliminary courses during the fall. The studies will begin in January 2022.
