Centria University of Applied Sciences, Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK), and Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences (SeAMK) are pleased to announce a fact-finding and cooperation trip to Nepal from March 23 to March 30, 2025. The delegation aims to meet with Nepalese university and high-school representatives, Embassy officials, students, and parents interested in university studies in Finland.

The Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences see Nepal as a highly prospective student recruitment area for Finland. “We want to ensure that interested applicants and their families receive first-hand and reliable information about the study opportunities in Finland,” says Francesca Cucinotta, Director of Internationalisation at Centria. Finland, known for its high living standards and quality education, faces the challenge of an aging population. Therefore, international students with high motivation to study and integrate are highly valued by Finnish universities.

Centria, SAMK, and SeAMK are located on the Western Coast of Finland, which produces 35% of Finland’s exports. Major export products include machinery, mineral fuels, electrical machinery, paper items, and iron and steel. The universities offer a wide range of programmes taught entirely in English at both the bachelor and master levels. Available programmes include business studies, technology, healthcare, maritime management, hospitality studies, and agri-food studies.

Representatives from the universities will be available to meet in person during the trip to discuss study opportunities in Finland. “We look forward to meeting potential students interested in pursuing Finnish higher education and providing honest and factual information about the possibilities,” stated Ari-Pekka Kainu, Head of International Relations at SAMK. Marjo Joshi, Dean of SeAMK, who has extensive experience with Nepal’s educational landscape, added, “We want to see these opportunities reach their full potential through cooperation between Finland and Nepal.”
