Work community skills are reflected in responsible behaviour, professional conduct and a positive attitude towards work, community members, immediate superiors and the workplace. These skills are based on acceptance of one’s role and that of others within the work community, as well as on communication, interaction and self-management skills.
We approach our work and its goals with a positive mindset. We are mindful of others’ work situations and offer help proactively. We ask for feedback, reflect on our actions and are willing to make changes.
A person with good work community skills addresses work-related matters directly with those concerned. They approach situations in a work-oriented and solutionfocused way and are also willing to address difficult issues. They listen and ensure they have understood issues correctly.
A person with good work community skills does not dwell on difficulties. Instead, they strive to identify what, despite challenges, is functioning and going well. They are also able to shift perspectives – for example, by seeing change as an opportunity for learning.
Leadership and supervisory work at SAMK aim to promote the well-being of our higher education community, mutual trust, and success in achieving our strategic goals. Wellbeing and motivation are achieved through cooperation, appreciation and support of each other.
