A working group on sustainable development and responsibility has been established at SAMK. The working group will start preparing SAMK’s own sustainable development and responsibility plan. The working group is led by Riitta Tempakka, Dean of Faculty of Logistics and Maritime Technology.
SAMK’s plan will be based on Arene’s programme for the sustainable development and responsibility. It provides a common frame of reference and supports the work of all 24 Finnish universities of applied sciences towards a more sustainable and responsible future.
The academic year of SAMK’s staff started earlier in these themes, when the theme of the personnel morning was sustainable development and responsibility. SAMK organizes an annual personnel day to review current issues and reward deserving SAMK employees.
The introductory speech was heard by Liisa Rohweder, Secretary General of WWF Finland. During the day, the staff got to think about sustainable development and responsibility measures at SAMK.
