A police incident at the Pori Campus today

The police received a report of an possibly armed individual on the SAMK Pori Campus this morning, Friday, April 17.

The police have apprehended the suspect. The police are investigating the incident and conducting necessary investigative procedures on-site. The situation on campus is calm, and there is no longer any danger to bystanders. The police are not aware of any casulties.

Support has been offered to those present. Students and staff have been internally informed about follow-up crisis support.

A total of 492 students graduated from Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK) during December 2025 and January 2026. The year 2025 was record-breaking for SAMK in terms of the number of graduates. SAMK congratulates all the graduates.
