OpenSAMK brought a buzz to campuses

SAMK celebrated the OpenSAMK event at Pori, Rauma and Kankaanpää campuses. The visitors had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with degrees on offer at SAMK and get answers to mind-boggling questions about different fields and studies.

Visitors were able to learn about different degrees through hands-on demonstration presentations.

The event provided a comprehensive presentation of SAMK’s degree programmes to secondary school students, teachers and career guidance staff. More than 500 visitors from all over Satakunta attended the OpenSAMK event.

Current students played a key role at the event, presenting their degrees and talking about their studies.

At Pori Campus there were demonstration stands of degree programmes and guided tours of learning environments such as the Simulation Centre for Health and Welfare, the robotics laboratory and the mechanical engineering laboratory. There was also a 3Wheeler built by students and Robo AI applications on display. On stage, the presenter Julle Kallio interviewed SAMK students non-stop.

At Rauma Campus the OpenSAMK event brought together businesses in the area, current students and applicants. Among other things, the sea captain and business and technology degrees were presented.

At Fine Arts Campus in Kankaanpää those who were interested in art education were able to familiarize themselves with the study facilities and exhibition activities.

SAMK today participated in Finland's largest digital security exercise Taisto. Taisto is a nationwide exercise that provides a safe opportunity to practice, test and develop digital security and to build up skills and confidence to rely on in the event of a real incident.
