SAMK organizes an international Business Week

Satakunta University of Applied Sciences organizes an international Business Week in Pori on March 6th - 10th 2017.

To make the case as concrete as possible, risk assessment and analysis will be made for SAMK business partner Luvata Pori Ltd.

During the week SAMK business students, exchange students and international guests from Belgium, Netherlands, Latvia, Germany and Czech Republic will study risk management case.

To make the case as concrete as possible, risk assessment and analysis will be made for SAMK business partner Luvata Pori Oy. Students get a comprehensive insight into the company from company representative’s presentation and visiting the factory site. Students work in teams and present their results on Friday, March 10th. The best team will be rewarded.

– Business Week Network is a network of several European Universities. SAMK is one of the founders in this Network. Objective of the event is to encourage students to internationalize themselves and go to student exchange abroad as well as give them an opportunity to learn more and apply their knowledge in business case, says Senior Lecturer Jukka Mäkinen.

Business Week is not only work but some play as well. Participants will visit Salomonkallio Ski Center, see local hockey game and have some evening fun together.

International Café will offer tasty snacks on Wednesday at Agora.

– Especially those students who have participated in Business Week events abroad has highly appreciated the experience – intensive event in unknown environment with foreigners solving various challenges, Jukka Mäkinen says.

Joint tourism studies attracted students in the Central Baltic Area – Teacher’s guide available on the net

More than 130 course certificates were issued to tourism students studying in the new online study programme “Boosting Growth of Tourism Business” during the academic year 2019-2020. The programme, designed and delivered in cooperation with SAMK, Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, Tallinn University of Technology and University of Latvia, was funded by the Central Baltic project BOOSTED.
