The responsibility of organising the annual conference provides an opportunity to present maritime knowledge from Satakunta and Finland to the international maritime community.

This year the annual IAMU AGA assembly took to the sea, as part of the conference took place on the cruise ship Silja Serenade sailing between the Finnish capital Helsinki and the Swedish capital Stockholm, so it gave the participants a truly Nordic maritime experience. The event brought together over 200 maritime experts and students from over 50 universities and colleges worldwide. The student event took place at SAMK campus Rauma.
