Increase in the number of applicants for international education at SAMK
The application period for education provided in a foreign language was in January. SAMK had six degree programmes leading to Bachelor´s degree to offer.

The joint application for higher education this spring was the first one ever where the applicants did not place the preferred degree programmes in any order of preference. The only education available at SAMK in the joint application was Physiotherapy with the number of applicants growing from 218 to 291.
The total number of separate applications for the international education at SAMK also rose compared to the year before. In the first separate application period the number of applicants ascended from 334 to 379. The number of applicants grew especially in Nursing education with 171 applicants. Artificial Intelligence was the latest addition to the study opportunities available.
Applicants from 60 countries
Applicants from around 60 countries applied to SAMK. Approximately two thirds of the applications arrived outside Finland.
The second separate application period for international education at SAMK takes place during 11 March – 1 April 2020. Apart from Physiotherapy, all the degree programmes available in January and engineering degree programmes Industrial Management and Logistics, which are conducted almost entirely online, can be applied to. In addition, Master´s degree programmes in English can be applied to during 11 March – 1 April 2020.
Joint application period for education in Finnish is during 18 March – 1 April 2020 on www.opintopolku.fi. All English education is applied to on www.studyinfo.fi.
According to the strategy of SAMK, the availability of education in English has been increased during the last three years. At the moment SAMK has eight Bachelor´s degree programmes and four Master´s degree programmes to offer in English.

SAMK today participated in Finland's largest digital security exercise Taisto. Taisto is a nationwide exercise that provides a safe opportunity to practice, test and develop digital security and to build up skills and confidence to rely on in the event of a real incident.
