From ideas to realization – Start-up community supports the student to become an entrepreneur
Enterprise Accelerator at SAMK has produced already 320 enterprises during its 22 years of operation. Now SAMK has invested even more in entrepreneurship and has established a proactive Start-up community, which is coordinated by Santeri Koivisto. Koivisto started as a senior adviser at SAMK last March.
Record number of degrees completed at SAMK in 2020 – the quality of education evaluated the best in Finland
According to the answers of AVOP survey the quality of education at Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK) was considered the best of all the universities of applied sciences in Finland.
New at SAMK – simulations with an expert by experience
This spring, SAMK has organised training and simulation sessions for the students of nursing and social services as well as for professionals already in working life. The experiences have been very positive.

99 students graduated from SAMK in November
Altogether 99 students graduated from SAMK in November. 10 of them graduated with a Master’s degree. SAMK congratulates all the graduates.
Daniela Březinová is the first student to graduate with a Bachelor´s Degree in Hospitality Management
Daniela Březinová is the first SAMK student who is graduating with a Bachelor´s degree in Hospitality Management. She comes from the Czech Republic but lives now in Finland with her Finnish boyfriend.
Application period to SAMK started
The second joint application period for universities of applied sciences has started. The application period for Bachelor´s degree programmes in English has already been open for a week. All the application periods will end on 1 April 2020.
From Central Europe to the shores of the Baltic Sea to study Tourism
After finishing her vocational school studies in tourism, Annika Lampert from Austria worked in the USA at a country club and in her own native country as a physician´s assistant and a receptionist. However, she had always been contemplating on higher education studies and getting an international degree.
Developing online nonstop courses: from impossible to possible
The mission of Digitaaliset kärkijoukot project organized by Continuing Education has been to jointly develop pedagogical capacities for online tutoring and teaching and to create new nonstop courses. The experience has been positive.
