The international AMiCI conference hosted by SAMK was a success
The second conference of COST AMiCI network was organized on 6–8 June at Palmgren Conservatory in Pori, Finland. The theme of the conference was ‘Antimicrobial Coatings in Health Care: from Innovations to the Market’.
There were over 60 participants in the conference from 21 European countries. Excellent key-note speeches and discussions, company fair and poster sessions were seen during the three days.
The Vice Chairperson of the network, Research Manager Minna Keinänen-Toivola says that the arrangements and the outcomes of the conference worked very well.
– The COST AMiCI Pori conference was a success in every way. We even had two days of Finnish summer during the event!
– In the conference on Tuesday, the value chain of antimicrobial coating from innovation to market was presented and discussed from several aspects. In working groups on Wednesday, it was concretized how to proceed within these aspects in co-operation of academics, companies and healthcare facilities as well as regulators. Working groups will have their meetings in late 2017 - early 2018. The next conference will be organized in summer 2018.
