Prizztech Ltd was granted 0.85M€ to coordinate and develop the Robocoast entity both in Finland and internationally in co-operation with SAMK and TTY.  The funding of these three projects is a part of a bridge agreement with the state, concerning a positive structural change in South-West Finland.

The international R&D template of the future research centre concentrating on robotics and artificial intelligence will be utilized by companies in Satakunta and other Finland, EU’s Digital Innovation Hub expert net and Made in China 2025 development programme.  The centre integrates the research of robotics and artificial intelligence in SAMK and TTY, making it a part of tuition in SAMK’s Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Academies.

In the project consortium, SAMK is responsible for the global Robocoast research and product development centre to be established in Satakunta and concentrating on automation, robotics and artificial intelligence.  The centre will be utilized by international companies, which want to locate their own product development units there.  Prizztech Ltd is responsible for developing and coordinating the R&D template concentrating on robotics and artificial intelligence, which can be utilized by the companies of the Robocoast cluster, by the EU’s Digital Innovation Hub expert net and by the Made in China 2025 development programme.

During the three-year project, the operation, operational model, facilities and common-use laboratories will be built to be a part of the success story of Satakunta Robocoast.

SAMK’s project volume connected with the centre’s operation is more than 4 million euros at the moment.

More than 20 research and product development experts work in these projects.  A recruitment of 5-10 more experts takes place this year.  Mr. Petteri Pulkkinen, Dean of Faculty of Technology, has been elected the Manager of Robocoast R&D Center.  The assignment begins on 1st August 2018.
