Education organizers from the region of Satakunta can be found in the Finnish pavilion under the name EducationFinland together with 12 other education organizers and enterprises in the field.

According to Jari Multisilta, President and Managing Director of SAMK, the joint participation in the expo exports education from Finland and Satakunta to the world. The goal is to have more foreign degree students at Satakunta. One of the central strategic goals of SAMK is to support the development of the region by increasing the number of international experts.

– Together with Sataedu we are able to provide education paths from vocational education to higher education degrees. I believe that our high-quality education system, safe society and clean nature attract people to come to study and work in Finland and Satakunta, Multisilta tells us.

Matti Isokallio, Director of Satakunta Educational Federation remarks that Sataedu and SAMK have already cooperated internationally before, with education export as one form of collaboration. Isokallio points out that the opportunity to come along to Dubai Expo came to Sataedu at the right time.

– Sataedu has already experience in exporting education to China. It is natural for us to search for new markets. Our strength is competence in elderly care, and we have the kind of competence that can be easily exported, Isokallio states.

More than 190 nations have confirmed their participation in Dubai Expo. The event is expected to attract 25 million visitors, with 70 percent of visitors projected to come from outside the United Arab Emirates. At the expo, the main theme of Finland is Sharing Future Happiness. The theme of the Finnish pavilion concentrates on circular economy, sustainability and innovations.
