Research in WANDER is focused on drinking water and the interactions between drinking water and materials in drinking water distribution networks
RESEARCH AND SERVICES
Quality of drinking water
With the research drinking water distribution network the aim is to study the interaction phenomena between drinking water and materials to ensure the safety of the water systems in the future and to extend the service life of the components.
We have a research distribution network that provides a unique study environment and a pilot scale water distribution network in a laboratory environment.
Hygiene in indoor environment
Indoor hygiene and the products and services affecting it have been studied in various research and development projects, including,
- IHMEC ja COST AMiCI
- SIHI, Innovative Indoor Space for Hygiene
- HygLi, Hygiene into Business
- HYGTECH, Solutions to Manage Hygiene in Indoor Environment
International projects
Nordic Water and Materials Institute takes part in international projects, which focus on:
- antimicrobial coatings (COST AMiCI)
- export of indoor hygiene to the Middle East (IHMEC)
Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden initiated the MAID project (Material and product innovation through knowledge based standardization in drinking water sector) in 2014 with the objective to foster innovation and harmonisation in the drinking water sector.
The first report (Report 1) "Nordic drinking water quality"
The second report (Report 2) "Regulations and approval systems in the Nordic countries"
WANDER Nordic Water and Materials Institute has series in Publications and Reports which both are mainly in Finnish. These publications and reports describe in detail the water quality and interactions between materials and drinking water, especially in Finland. There is a English summary of some of these publications. The rest of these publications and reports are available in our Finnish websites.
Publication 5: Drinking Water Quality and Network Materials in Finland, Summary Report (1,4 Mt)
Other publications of WANDER Nordic Water and Materials include:
