Get-together event for SAMK exchange students
Get Together Day
The Get Together Day is an event organized for all international students at SAMK. It’s a day filled with fun and new experiences. When coming to Finland, there are a number of things students want to do and this day is a great opportunity for them to dive into the Finnish culture!
In the morning, the students are given a presentation on Finland, on a possible culture shock and how to deal with this new environment. Later in the afternoon, activities are organised depending on the season.
During the day, the students can enjoy Finnish food-tasting, typical Finnish games and outdoor activities like swimming in the lake, sledging, cross-country skiing, grilling sausages, etc.
Christmas Dinner
The Christmas dinner is an event organized for international students in order to end the semester in the most Finnish and festive way. Students are served typical Finnish Christmas food and international tutors organise games and activities during the night. Indeed, they sing, play music and obviously, Santa pays everyone a visit.
International Café
The International Café is an event where international tutors and students prepare food, quizzes and small typical activities from their home countries. During the event international students, other students and university staff have a possibility to try out every specialty that are presented during that day.
