Curriculum reform is underway at SAMK. The reform work is carried out based on the principles of sustainable development. The idea is to consider at each degree program and course how sustainable development relates to the field and the course in question.

A friend’s suggestion encouraged Kanerva to apply to become a sea captain

A suggestion from a friend changed the choice of education for Kanerva Myllynen. Previously, it had never occurred to her that she could make a job out of seafaring, even though she had been sailing all her life. Now Kanerva is studying her first year to become sea captain and has found it interesting and inspiring.

The application period to the degree programmes taught in English at SAMK is now open and ends on 16 February 2022. There are in total nine different Bachelor´s degree programmes and one Master´s degree programme available.

Senior Lecturer Maija Kangasperko teaches international physiotherapy students at SAMK together with her team. Her work includes teaching professional subjects and thesis supervision. Kangasperko has extensive international networks, and according to her, they are the university's most important resource.
