The application for SAMK's international degree programmes closed yesterday. A total of more than 18 400 applications were received for eleven of the eleven programmes from more than 9 000 individual applicants.
At the end of last year, Satakunta University of Applied Sciences was very successful in acquiring research funding. SAMK will be receiving a total of six million euros in national and international research funding. The funding will be channeled into 20 research projects serving Satakunta.
Teppo Lundell, Senior Lecturer of Business Competence, has worked at the SAMK Campus Rauma for 18 years. Currently, Lundell works as a project management expert at the Maritime Logistics Research Centre and leads the Academy of Business and Technology, where SAMK students work on real problems and development projects of companies

The Ministry of Education and Culture has granted universities of applied sciences five million euros in funding for seven research projects based on an assessment by the evaluation panel. SAMK's research project Healthier life with comprehensive indoor hygiene concept received funding of approximately EUR 628,000.
The newly established Center for Tourism Business Development at Satakunta University of Applied Sciences supports the recovery and renewal of the tourism industry in Satakunta region.
