SATAKUNTA UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES

The official name of this university is Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (Satakunnan ammattikorkeakoulu in Finnish). The abbreviation is SAMK. We operate in four cities: Pori, Rauma, Kankaanpää and Huittinen. We have over 6500 students. There are three different faculties: Faculty of Business and Culture, Faculty of Social Services and Health Care and Faculty of Technology and Maritime Management.

Faculty of Technology and Maritime Pori

In our faculty, there are three campuses: Faculty of Technology and Maritime Management Pori, Faculty of Technology and Maritime Management Rauma (Technology) and Faculty of Technology and Maritime Management Rauma (Maritime Management). In this campus (Tekpo or Temepo) we have student restaurant Tekatria and library. There are 1200 students in different degree programmes. Satakunta University of Applied Sciences is located on the west coast of Finland, in the Satakunta region. Pori offers spacious and safe living conditions, a lot of green nature and excellent opportunities for leisure activities. The city is big enough to offer all the necessary services but also small enough to have a cozy and friendly atmosphere. An important part of the culture in the region is ice hockey; when the teams of Pori and Rauma meet, the atmosphere in the stadium is indescribable!
