BACHELOR’S DEGREE

The theses at Satakunta University of Applied Sciences are primarily individual pieces of work. However, if the task requires the work input of two students, it can be conducted as partner work. The students working as partners may be from different fields of study.

In the thesis plan, the students shall present their grounds for the cooperation and describe their division of labour. The supervisor shall make the decision on conducting the thesis work as partners after consulting the degree programme coordinator or the principal lecturer in charge of the theses within the faculty.

It is also possible to complete several individual pieces of work on the same subject matter or e.g. within a single project, and to utilise group support. The thesis can also be supervised otherwise in a group so that the supervision and peer support will benefit everyone.

MASTER’S DEGREE

A Master’s thesis is an individual piece of work. However, the aim is to form thesis groups on the basis of the topics, in order to benefit from both supervision and fellow students’ peer support. The questions, problems and solutions brought up in the theses will bring joint benefits when work is conducted according to the principle of shared expertise.
