Suomesta uusia kokemuksia

Kiinasta kotoisin oleva Wenxiang ”Wenkku” Fan on työskennellyt Liiketoiminta ja kulttuuri Porin kv-toimistossa syyskuusta lähtien. Vuoden alusta hänelle tarjoutui tilaisuus jatkaa harjoitteluaan IBS-koulutusohjelman assistenttina. Työssään hän keskittyy erityisesti Kiinaan suuntautuvan markkinoinnin kehittämiseen.

Koulutusohjelmavastaava Reijo Koivula pitää projektia tärkeänä. – Aasiassa ja erityisesti Kiinassa käytetään agenttitoimistoja opiskelupaikan löytämiseen. Toimistojen käyttö lisää hakijoiden vanhempien luottamusta siihen, että he uskaltavat lähettää nuorensa opiskelemaan toiselle puolelle maailmaa. Agentit vastaavat hakijan asiakirjoista. Wenkku tutkii kiinalaisten ja jos aikaa jää muiden aasialaisten opiskelijavälitysagentuurien palvelujen tasoa, hinnoittelua ja muodostaa niistä kontaktilistan, hän kertoo. 

Polyfonian toimitus haastatteli Wenkkua koskien hänen kokemuksiaan Suomesta ja SAMKista.

Tell us something about yourself?

My name is Wenxiang. I come from Changzhou, a city in southeast of China, 160 km from Shanghai. Changzhou is now becoming a sister city with Satakunta region, and JPU (Jiangsu Polytechnic University) is a partner school with SAMK. So I got this chance of coming to Finland to experience your fascinating culture.

How do you like living in Finland?

I love Finland. The unique weather in Finland impressed me. I came in September and loved the countless and endless green trees and the blue sky. In November it became so dark, but then the beautiful snow lights this land up again. Amazing! Now I am waiting for the nature to wake up again.

There are also many friendly people I want to give thanks. I’m moved by the beautiful hearts here.

What kind of experiences you have from SAMK?

I have been working as an intern in the international office, LIPO since last September. I am now doing marketing for the IBS Group. I’ve collected all the contacts about the 386 legal overseas study agencies in China, and now I’m trying to contact with them.

Not only have I gained working experience here, but also communication skills. I enjoy the tasks I am doing now very much.

What about your future plans?

My contract ends at the end of this April. I wish I could experience the Summer time here in Finland, the craziest season I have heard a lot about, but never experienced. I am sure there will be more cooperation between China and Finland in the future to create more and more opportunities.
