SAMK and Changzhou University Intensify Cooperation
Satakunta University of Applied Sciences and Changzhou University (CZU) intensify their cooperation in the field of research, development and innovations. The second joint research seminar was held in Pori on May 16-17, following the first seminar arranged in Changzhou in 2010.
Changzhou City is located in Jiangsu, Satakunta’s twin province, about 170 km from Shanghai. Changzhou is strategically interesting to Satakunta as the region has many projects dealing with renewable energy sources and drinking water. The City of Shanghai with its population of 20 million inhabitants is a remarkable centre of international business activities; for instance half of the Finnish companies based in China are located there. Shanghai is also known for its World Expo in 2010.
Changzhou University is one of our most important international partners, says Matti Lähdeniemi, SAMK’s Dean. We have student and teacher exchange but would like to expand our cooperation into the field of research. Currently we have at SAMK one professor from Changzhou University as exchange.
According to Lähdeniemi, SAMK is especially interested in cooperation within energy, wellbeing at work, entrepreneurship, environment and clean water. CZU is keen to learn more about e.g. SAMK’s cooperation with local companies.
