International Week 11-15 February 2013
Satakunta University of Applied Sciences’ Faculties of Health and Welfare were honored to host 15 international teachers and practitioners from partner-universities and organisations for International Week 2013, 11-15 February.
The expert panel of guest lecturers and staff represented Robert Gordon University (Scotland); Middlesex University and Southampton University, England; Palacky University, the Czech Republic; ZUYD University, the Netherlands; Debrecen University, Hungary; and Missouri State University, the USA.
The week was filled with captivating presentations of new developments in the fields of Health Care, Social Services, and Physiotherapy and cultural visits to Old Rauma, Noormarkku, Ahlström, and Villa Mairea. The guest lectures of the international –as well as SAMK- teachers’ and experts—were highly appreciated by both students and staff.
SAMK’s current international exchange students also became involved with their own country- and university presentations during the International Café.
Although this year was the 5th annual International Week, it was the first time that the week has been held during winter months in Finland. The international guests’ overall reaction to International Week 2013 has been astoundingly excellent with many eager to return to this event next year.
Exact dates for International Week 2014 are to be decided and announced at a later time.
