The specialisation of this degree programme is determined by the choice of the majority of students. The alternatives are special education and guidance of handicapped people, socio-pedagogic work with children and teenagers, work with senior citizens or social work with substance abusers and people with mental health problems. The total scope of this programme is 210 ECTS credits, of which the actual studies are 150-170 credits and the rest is completed with vocational skills demonstrations. The training is conducted as multiform studying and part of the studies can be conducted abroad. The programme is composed of e.g. socio-economic issues, professional knowhow required in social services, multidisciplinary interaction, team processes, multicultural work and development of working environments. Special emphasis is placed on cooperation between social and health fields, developmental skills, international aspects and entrepreneurship. Graduates from this programme qualify as competent experts in the fields of social and health care as well as in diverse organizations.
