Health and health promotion are current themes in social dialogue. Changes in both service requirements of customers and in working life call for exchange of knowhow and smooth collaboration between various professionals. The objective of these adult degree programmes is to further educate competent professionals for nursing and health care. The education is conducted in a multiform learning environment, mainly during evenings, weekends and in virtual surroundings. Up-to-date premises and equipment as well as top-rate scientific libraries back up the students in their studies. Basic education in health care or social services is required from the applicants and the extent of studies is determined by the previous training of the student. Graduates from these degree programmes qualify as professional registered nurses in hospitals and health centres, public health care, child welfare clinics and occupational health services.
