International Activities
SAMK participates in international cooperation by
- Providing instruction in English
- Developing international curricula with our partners
- Promoting student and staff exchanges (multilateral programmes, bilateral agreements)
- Having R&D and innovative projects with partners
- Arranging seminars and conferences.
STUDENT AND STAFF MOBILITY
Annually more than 200 students of SAMK go abroad for study exchange or internship. About the same amount of international students study at SAMK, most of them exchange students. During the years 2007–2008 SAMK had 50 degree students in our degree programmes conducted in English.
About 70 teachers or members of SAMK staff went abroad to participate in teacher or staff exchange. About 30 foreign teachers came to SAMK to give lectures and presentations to our students.
INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL
SAMK has arranged an International Summer School together with Rovaniemi University of Applied Sciences since 2008. The cross-cultural development course has gathered about 50 students from our Magellan Partner Universities from the US and also Europe to study together, two weeks in Pori and two weeks in Rovaniemi.

PARTNERS
Our strategy is to find key partners who are interested in long-term partnerships in the fields of expertise that both partners are specialised in. We currently have almost 140 cooperation agreements with partner universities in Europe, Russia, Asia (China, Japan, Korea, Thailand), United States and Mexico.
