Administration 

The operating licence was granted to SAMK by the Finnish Government in the year 1996. SAMK started to operate as an established University of Applied Sciences on 1 August 1997 with 4,300 students.

SAMK is maintained by the City of Pori and directed by the municipal committee, the Board of Satakunta University of Applied Sciences and the President of SAMK.

ORGANISATION

The leading director of SAMK is the President (in President’s Office).

The President is assisted by Administrative Services including:

• Student Application Services (Admissions Office)
• Planning and Development Services
• Financial Services
• IT Services
• Communication Services

SAMK operates within three Faculties and the Continuing Education Centre. The Faculties are lead by Deans and the Continuing Education Centre by a Director.

The Faculties and Deans are:

• Business and Culture, Dean Mr Jari Iisakkala
• Social Services and Health Care, Dean Ms, Dr Eeva-Liisa Moisio
• Technology and Maritime Management,  Dean Ms, Dr Anne Pohjus

Instruction, R&D, the Directors of Education and the Research Directors operate and act in the Faculties.

The Faculties have campuses in five towns in the Satakunta Region.
